2020 WAMHS Rosario Carrizo Education Scholarship Awards
ATTENTION: graduating seniors, counselors, caseworkers, parents, mentors, and other concerned adults working with students in the South Texas area.
Women’s & Men’s Health Services of the Coastal Bend (WAMHS) is proud to provide scholarship opportunities to assist young people along their journey to a more successful future. While higher education is an important stepping stone toward that future, we know how expensive college can be! Each year WAMHS offers several awards that can assist graduating seniors who are most in need.
This year WAMHS will grant three scholarships: one $750 award, and two $500 awards.
Application Criteria
- Applications will be accepted from all graduating seniors in the South Texas area regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender, gender expression, or sexual orientation. Awards may be used for 4 year-, 2 year-, vocational, or other accredited training programs that will enhance the recipient’s future opportunities in the workforce.
- To be eligible for WAMHS scholarships, student applicants must have applied to at least one college prior to the final submission deadline.
- Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their answers to two brief questions and two essays.
- The WAMHS Scholarship Selection Committee will consider three criteria when judging entries: financial need, quality of writing, and substantive content of essays.
Deadline for applications: Sunday, April 14, 2019
Selected recipients will be contacted by Monday, April 29, 2019
An award dinner will be held to honor the recipients and their families (date to be announced)
